Ford F150s For Sale

Question: Ford F150 for sale?
Hey, does anyone have a 1970's Ford F150 for sale?? At all? Anywhere in the Midwest? I want to buy one for my significant other for christmas.... Or later, if need be. His current car is giving him problems, and I know he's been trying to find a 1970's Ford F150 for some time now. If you do, please e-mail me. Or at least, please give me the going rate on that specific type of car--even if you don't have one, I would love to know the ballpark figure on the 70's Ford F150.

Thanks a bunch!!

Answer: it depends on the condition you want it in most will be rusted pretty bad and to find a low mileage around 100,000 or so with little or no rust you will pay over $2000 .

Question: Ford Trucks ( F150 ) Mileage?
what mileage does a 2001 Ford F150 2WD stop working or starts having problems?

What is the average mileage a ford f150 gets until it starts getting bad and needs work?

Answer: Usually at 100k needs maintainance bad.. other than coil packs that go out early... got many of these trucks at 100-200+k already in miles on the road... with just minor problems (nothing major) such as battery etc.

If you don't take care of the truck, will go earleier, but know of many of these trucks that are highway driven and they are at 100k + with no problems

Question: Ford F150 seat swap...?
I currently have a standard bench seat in my 2002 Ford F150 standard cab 4.2L V6, 5 speed manual. I want to put bucket seats in it, but have to have room for my wife, son (car seat), and I. So I was woundering if I got a 60/40 out of a Dodge Ram or Dakota if it would fit. Would I have to get a seat out of another ford? I just want a seat that will seat all 3 of us, but I NEED to be able to recline my seat at least a little. My bench seat now will NOT recline at all!

Answer: Yeah, get a 60/40 bench seat from a F150. It will bolt right up.

Question: 2002 Ford F150 4.6L Lifter noise?
Ok I can hear what seem to be the lifters/rocker/follower, really loud on my 2002 ford F150 supercab 4.6L at first I though it was a plug that was loose, Fords are known for plug blow outs so I replaced the plugs and changed the oil but I still hear the noise on the passengers side of the engine up at the valve cover, what could it be?

Spark plugs blowout site: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/ford_spark.html

Answer: If the engine runs good and has high mileage, it might be the timing chain guides that are worn out

Question: 2002 Ford F150 XL Super cab What years?
I have a 2002 Ford F150 supercab 4x4 and I am wondering what years are compatible to exchange parts for mine. I would like to exchange the seats, door panels, carpet, engine trans from a F150 XLT

Answer: Actually it's 1999-2004 heritage models

Some stuff also interchanges witht he 1997 and 1998 models but to be absolutely sure it's 1999-2004 (In 2004, it's the heritage edition only)

Question: Ford F150 fuel pump problems?
i have a ford F150 (1995) which died on me as i was driving. I thought it was out of gas, so i filled it. It would still not start, but when filling the engine directly with gas, it did start. What should the fuel pump pressure be? Any Diagnosis available?

Answer: Change your fuel filter. But it is probably the fuel pump but you need to change it anyway if it is the pump.

Question: Ford F150 shifts hard from 1st to 2nd. Is there any help?
I have a 1993 F150 4x4 that shifts hard from 1st into 2nd. It gets better from 2nd to 3rd, and from 3rd to OD is very smooth. I have a 1089 GM that had some kind if "hose" (maybe a vacume line) missing, and when it was replaced it worked great. Is there anything like this on my Ford??

Answer: Broken 1st to 2nd shift accumulator spring. Can be accessed by removing the transmission pan. It's the servo on the left/front corner of the case, secured by one snap ring.

Question: 99 Ford F150 truck brake trouble?
I have a 99 ford F150 5 speed truck. I have had new brakes put on, new rotors, new brake adjuster, new emergency brake cables and brakes are still locking up. I have a great mechanic but, he is very troubled with this problem. Truck drives great going down the road until it comes time to stop. Even light pressure applied to the brakes can practically throw you through the windshield. Need help, cannot afford to take this truck to a ford dealer.

Answer: I had this happen to me. When the brake linings were installed, some oily fingerprints got on the contact surfaces. It didn't seem possible for that to cause the brakes to be so touchy, but it did.I pulled it apart and lightly sanded the pads and shoes, then it was just fine.It might have worn in after a while but I didn't know for sure and didn't want to die in traffic.

Question: 1995 Ford F150 ball joints bad?
I took my 1995 Ford F150 to a large Ford dealership for a simple inspection. With the truck being in good condition I expected it to be a quick in-and-out job with no findings. What I got was a $800+ estimate to fix the upper and lower ball joints. I was shocked by this because I had seen no sign of ball joint problems. The tires were in great shape, and the front end felt solid. Being a little skeptical, I told the mechanic to go ahead and fail me and took the truck to another garage. The mechanic there took me into the garage and showed me that the joints were fine -- just as I suspected. He passed the inspection with no findings.

When I contacted the original dealership to complain, the service manager asked me to bring the truck back to have someone else look at it. I was surprised to have them confirm that the ball joints were indeed bad. What do ya'll think is going on here? Is it likely to have bad ball joints without any symptoms? Or was this an attempted hijacking?

Answer: Ball joints go bad all the time on these vehicles and are very common and yes they can be worn and you may not realize it. They may me marginal and you might get different opinions.
Sometimes a slow shop will try to sell you something you may not need. Try to find a shop that is not a franchise and the technicians and service writer are not on commission. You need to find an honest repair shop and stick with them.

Question: I have a 2003 Ford F150 with a 4.6 liter V8 triton Engine. My question how good and how Powerful is that engine? One more Question can i take it off road with out having 4x4 or does it matter? Not sure how that 4x4 works if i live in the city, planning a trip to the snow here in the monutains and just wondering what to expect?

Answer: Well sounds like you got yourself a nice truck. unfortunately you have a 4.6 under the hood. The motor to me is underpowered. Living out here in the sticks of Kansas we get to run trucks through the paces, and I have had the pleasure of driving all of the different engines. The 4.2 v-6 is junk, way underpowered and its definetly for the city folks. Next is the 4.6, runs smooth decent fuel mileage, but just to underpowered for hauling and serious off roading. The 5.4 is my motor of choice in the 1/2 ton trucks. It has some serious low end power and runs like a monster on steroids. In the 3/4 ton trucks the 5.4 has the same problems as the 4.6 in the 1/2, gets you by, but somewhat lacking. The 6.8 is a runnin little s.o.b, but sucks fuel like a camel. The 7.3 powerstroke is the best for economy power and reliability, cause the 6.0 is a piece of junk. As far as the off-roading goes, these trucks do awesome for a truck with the IFS.(Which you have, trust me). Just get your self a good set of all terrain or mud terrain tires or you will have trouble with traction.

Question: Switching Transmissions on 94 and 95 Ford F150?
Switching Transmissions on 94 and 95 Ford F150?
I have a 1995 Ford F150 4x4 Automatic with a 302 and i have 1994 Ford F150 4x4 300 6 cylinder and wanting to know if i can use the transmission out of the 1994 on the 1995?

Question: Will a Ford F150 seat fit into a Ford RAnger?
I have a 1990 Ford Ranger single cab and it has a 60/40 seat well i want to bucket seats but i dont want to buy sum nice racing seat or like sum adjucting trucker seat ccuz that seems to be all i can find so will 2 bench seat from around the same year model f150 fit into my truck?

Answer: As the other poster said, truck too small...

you might have to drill holes but try a bucket seat from a 1991-1994 Ford explorer or even better out of a 1989 or 1990 Bronco II.. same size truck....

Question: 1990 Ford F150 V8 engine leak?
I'm looking to buy a used Ford F150 with an automatic V8 engine. Ther seems to be a slight leak and after looking under the engine it appears to be between where the trans and engine join together? Is this an expensive seal to repair? What is this type of leak called? I'm pretty sure it's oil not ATF. Thanks for your input!

Answer: If it is oil, then you must replace the Rear main seal. The seal costs less than $10, but you must either pull the engine or remove the transmission. It will be pricey. 6-8 hrs labour.
